This Candlelight Blessing wall art honors the sacred Shabbat candle-lighting ceremony and the women who carry this tradition forward.

Every Shabbat, just before sundown, a Jewish woman lights the candles and recites a prayer that brings peace, light, and holiness into the home. I created this papercut artwork as a tribute to that powerful and intimate ritual.

At the center of the piece, the Hebrew blessing for the Shabbat candles appears in clear black type, alongside additional prayers traditionally said by Jewish women. A softly colored floral border surrounds the text, adding warmth and gentleness. Around it, my papercut design frames the blessing with depth and quiet movement.

Above the blessing, I cut the verse:
“Her children stand and rejoice in her; her husband praises her. Many women have shown valor, but you surpass them all.”
This verse reflects strength, devotion, and inner beauty, and completes the spiritual message of the artwork.

I create each piece from 100% acid-free paper and combine hand-painted details with precise papercutting. I also hand-sign every artwork, making each one a personal and lasting keepsake.
