An original hand-cut and hand-painted artwork by Noa Attias, titled “Jerusalem of Gold.”

This unique papercut brings together sacred and historic landmarks from the city’s past and present. At the same time, newer architectural elements appear alongside ancient sites, creating a unified visual story.

The design features well-known symbols, including the Western Wall, the Tomb of Avshalom on the Mount of Olives, and several gates of the Old City, such as Jaffa Gate, HaAshpot Gate, and Shechem Gate. In addition, the artwork includes the Tower of David, the vertical columns of the Cardo market, the Hurva Synagogue, the windmill at Mishkenot Sha’ananim, the Knesset Menorah, and the Shrine of the Book.

At the center of the papercut, I painted the Western Wall, intentionally without the mosque. Nearby, I included the Chords Bridge, one of the city’s newest architectural highlights. This bridge adds a strong visual element to the skyline and marks the entrance to the city in a contemporary way.

Surrounding the artwork is the verse:
עומדות היו רגלינו בשעריך ירושלים, ירושלים הבנויה כעיר שחוברה לה יחדיו

“Our feet were standing within your gates, O Jerusalem. A rebuilt Jerusalem is like a city that is all joined together.”

Through these layers, the piece expresses continuity, connection, and the meeting point between history, faith, and modern life.

It will make a wonderful decoration for any home.

* Papercut size:
25 inches x 25 inches, including frame.
